Miami Eats: Food Paradise

Updated: Apr 29, 2020

Influenced by its Latin/Caribbean culture, Miami's diverse tastes offers some of the best food in the States. Below are restaurants you must check out to discover a glimpse of Miami's food scene.

Bakan - Wynwood

Located in the neighborhood of Wynwood, Miami’s entertainment/art district, this Mexican restaurant feels like you’re in Mexico as the restaurant is surrounded with cactus. You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere the restaurant offers. A wide selection of mezcal and tequila drinks to choose from. You must try the tostadas de ceviche, langosta con chorizo tacos, suiza enchiladas, and finish it off with churros. Pictures and videos below:

BND Burger - Wynwood

A burger joint located in Wynwood inside Wood Tavern. If you’re in the mood for burgers, this is the place to check out. The burgers are very juicy, they use wagyu beef with fresh toppings and 3 different french fries you can choose from.(regular, cheese, & freestyle fries) Freestyle fries are loaded with avocado green sauce, sour cream, pico de gallo, and your choice of meat(chicken, al pastor, & steak) They also serve chicken wings, tacos, and quesadillas if burgers are not your thing.

Sugarcane - Midtown

A bustling restaurant with a Latin/Japanese twist with indoor and outside seating in a garden-type setting. The food is exquisite, creative, and appetizing. My girlfriend and I tried the following dishes - edamame, lamb chops, shrimp ceviche, night crab sushi, shrimp tempura, and torrejas for dessert. Pictures and videos below:

Palmas Café - Brickell

Located in the neighborhood of Brickell, Miami’s financial district, this Latin American restaurant offers delicious food from Colombia, Peru, Cuba, and other Latin American countries. I had the Colombian Paisa and Palmas bowl, a cafe con leche and mimosas. Excellent place for breakfast and lunch. Pictures below:

Sunny’s - South Beach

Located in South Beach on Collins Ave, the restaurant is 24/7 serving sandwiches, desserts, ice creams, and milkshakes. The Cubano and Chicken Melt sandwiches served with fries melted in my mouth, very delicious and fresh. It has a diner type feeling to it.
